Bespoke furniture & joinery
This service is where we design furniture and fitted woodwork specifically for your space, then work with makers to have it made. That could be a dining table, a bed, built-in wardrobes, kitchen cupboards or shelving.
What the brief
can include.
A dining table, a basin unit and a wardrobe each need different decisions about scale, material and use. Ndani develops these elements alongside the wider scheme, with drawings to communicate the detail before they are made.
Individual furniture
Tables, seating, beds and other pieces developed for the project.
Fitted elements
Wardrobes, kitchens, basin units and millwork considered in relation to the room.
Drawings & materials
Furniture details and material selections for review, with local makers involved where appropriate.

Made for its place.
At Mara Siana, Ndani designed furniture for the main mess area and rooms, including basins and basin units that were made locally. The work extends from the shared spaces to the details of the guest accommodation.

Before we begin.
A few details about commissioning furniture and fitted elements for your space.
Ask about your projectCan I enquire about a single piece of furniture?
Yes. Tell us what you have in mind, where it will be used and any dimensions you have. We consider these enquiries individually and can discuss whether the piece is a suitable commission.
Who makes the furniture?
Our projects include furniture designed by Ndani and made locally. The maker, materials and arrangements for production are discussed as part of each commission.
Do you also design kitchens and fitted joinery?
Yes. Our work includes kitchens, wardrobes, basin units and other fitted elements, as well as individual furniture. These are considered in relation to the room, with drawings to communicate their scale, materials and detail.
What can I review before a piece is made?
The form, materials and drawings are developed for review as part of the agreed design. These help explain how the piece will look and work within the space. Manufacture, sourcing and coordination responsibilities are clarified within the commission.
How are the costs agreed?
We first define the scope and prepare a financial proposal. The scheme and project budget are presented for approval before implementation. Discuss the design fee, purchasing arrangements and site involvement with us so it is clear what your appointment includes.
How long will the project take?
The programme is developed once the scope is understood. A room refresh, a bespoke piece and a complete interior involve different work. Mention any intended move-in or opening date early, so the design, sourcing and site stages can be considered together.
