Start with where the fabric will go.
A fabric for a sofa has a different job from one used on a cushion or bed cover. We consider how you will use it, how it feels and the look you want, so the choice makes sense for that part of the room.
See the fabrics together.
A plain upholstery fabric can sit beside a patterned cushion. A finer weave can contrast with a heavier texture. We help you consider these combinations alongside your rug, furniture and any fabrics you want to keep.
This gives you something concrete to compare: the actual samples, their colours and their relationship to the rest of the interior.
Choose an existing fabric, or develop a new pattern.
Choosing from an existing range is one option. We can also develop an original fabric pattern for your project, when you want something particular to the interior.
At Mara Siana, for example, we designed an acacia-patterned fabric that was printed locally and used for cushions and bed covers.
